What began as a playful logo for a family pinball room has spiraled into something much bigger - PLAY BETTER Sportswear.
Founder Kirby Smith always dreamed of designing hats. That dream became a reality in 2025, when a simple golf logo gifted on sweatshirts to the entire family sparked unexpected interest. As the family wore them around town, people noticed - and loved the vibe. With encouragement from friends and family, Kirby decided to take the leap and start a company.
But this wasn’t a solo mission. Kirby recruited the whole crew: three daughters, their husbands and nine grandchildren. Together, they built something rooted in family, competition and heart.
The name? That came naturally. In this sports-loving family, one phrase has always echoed through games, practices and post-competition chats: PLAY BETTER.
Whether winning or losing, it’s about showing up, giving your best, and pushing forward. It’s also the go-to line at the 19th hole when someone starts complaining about their round - “PLAY BETTER". Boom! A name that motivates, challenges and makes a statement.
